This year has taught me a lot about finding my security and validation in God’s love for me.

Psalm 31:5 says, “Into your hands I commit my spirit; redeem me, O Lord, the God of truth.” Jesus quotes this Psalm as his last words on the cross. Even after quoting Psalm 22:1 saying “My God My God why have you forsaken me?” Jesus still finds his security in the Lord. Jesus knew he was not abandoned by God. If you look to the end of Psalm 22 you will see that Gods righteousness is praised and proclaimed to all the nations.

Our problems may seem big to us and we may have seemingly huge concerns, but in the grand scheme of things they are not too important. This is because we have a relationship with God the Father through Jesus. He has pulled us out of our old life which was bound to this terrible world and we are now considered sons and daughters “citizens” of another eternal kingdom. That is why we are not dismayed and downcast by the problems that come up in life. This is not to say we do not have problems, just that we have someone to bring them to and find peace.
