So we have all finished up in Nauta and it has been the hardest place that we have been so far. We lived on the river on a boat and it was crammed with 27 people. The two guys on the crew Angel and Slander were very nice guys and Slander always had a smile on his face. Even though the guys lived in the hold of the boat, it was very difficult. Mosquitoes would come up through the cracks in the floorboards and bit us as we slept. This would cause whatever got bitten to feel like it was on fire and it would be difficult to get back to sleep. This was the first time in my life that I have not looked forward to going to bed and sleeping because I knew that it would be very uncomfortable. This went on for two weeks and I am glad that aspect is over. More than the heat or rain, I hated the mosquitoes.

I really had God speak to me about community and love when we were there. There are 27 of us and we are all learning to live together in love and it is the hardest thing in the world. The only way we can possibly get through is by recognizing God´s grace with us and showing that to other people.

1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,

this is from isaih 61 and it has been speaking volumes to me. God has really been speaking to me about binding up the brokenhearted and treating people with more love and grace. Hopefully I can learn more of this in the year to come traveling the world…
