Today is our team day off and I am just relaxing here in an internet cafe in one of the main squares in Iquitos. It is nice to have a day off. Yesterday was a long day in the village we were ministering in and it went well. We got to have a church service and we sang for a long time in Casteano and in English. Then one of our team mates Nate gave an awesome message about the Cross of Christ and about His resurrection. It was very good, but we got done late. I am hoping to write a blog soon about what he talked about.
Here is what stood out in my Quiet Time this morning:
1 Corinthians 7:22-23 says, “For he who was a slave when he was called by the Lord is the Lord’s freedman; similarly, he who was a free man when he was called is Christ’s slave. You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.” I love the fact that we are free in Christ. We are no longer chained to the law of sin and death, but we have been called to a glorious new life in Christ Jesus. We no longer live to server men, but we serve God. This is incredibly freeing and releases the burden of caring what others think. Now we strive to please our heavenly father.
