Romans 8:37-39 says, “In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
I am so glad to be more than a conquerer. I know I can handle the storms of life – not in any of my own strength, but that which comes from God. I would like to think that I can get by on my own and conquer the world, but I don’t thnk that’s the point. I would rather have the love and peace that comes from a relationship with God than all the money and power in the world. You see these things will leave you empty. A few years ago when Bill Gates was being interviewed they asked him, “What is it like having all that money?” His response is astounding, “Like an empty paper bag.” Even being one of the richest men in the world does not make you happy. A relationship with God through Jesus Christ is the only way to experience real joy and freedom.
Also I am so glad that nothing can come in between me and God now. I have been falling so much more in love with Him on this trip and it is really great. Not having the constant lure of entertainment out here has been great. I am excited to see what more there is in God’s plan for me. You see He set me free from the law of sin and death and the burden of my old life. Now I live for Him.
