Love
is hereLove is kind of a big deal in our society and in every society really. Love is one of those things that is universal, like the need to eat and breathe…and for us as Christ followers, its kind of what its all about. Jesus calls us to love. Everyone. I have been realizing more and more that all I can really do is love, because love is not bound by a language or a culture. So I am trying to make my prayers be, “Let me see people as You do. Let me pray what You pray…” because when I see filth, annoyance or even blatant evil, Jesus sees a son or daughter…someone He loves in a way we can’t comprehend. Not sure who said it, but I love the phrase, “Share Jesus with everyone and use words when necessary.”
The other thing I have been realizing about myself is that sometimes it is really hard for me to love people. And here it is, this one thing that I can really offer and I fail so often at it. Part of being human I guess, but it is definitely one of those things that God is refining in me and has been….awesome 🙂
I could go on for awhile about love and its importance in the Christian life, but I am thinking most of you already know this. However, I will explain what prompted this love blog 🙂 As I told you, I have been realizing for awhile now how important it is for me to simply love someone and along with that I have been able to really dwell on and rest in the immense love Jesus has for me. I am His favorite! (You are too :)) It blows me away that He never takes His eyes off of me. He is always right by my side… sometimes doing jumping jacks or a crazy dance just trying to get me to notice Him. So while I am running off in pursuit of something dumb and of this world, He not only still loves me, He is pursuing me. Basically, we serve a great God who is incomprehensible and amazing.
I am finally getting to the point 🙂 Welp, I am in Thailand as you know, and this seems like as good a place as any to get a tattoo 🙂 So thats what I did, as you’ll be able to see. It is very simple and it is in Thai but you might be able to guess what it means in English 😉 Its love. I got it so it will be a constant reminder to me not only to be a lover but also that I am always loved and that His love is enough. So here’s to forever with this thing….sorry Mom 🙂

We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us! But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.
