I am so thankful for precious, special moments that I get here in Romania! I’m very thankful for my squad and the many ways they care for one another and others around them. I am also thankful for the many people the Lord has placed in my life, each person has a purpose and reason.

Last Saturday, I went on a house visit with our host and my teammate Ashlyn. I almost cried because of all that I was feeling.

As we walked into the family’s home, the owners took off their shoes. I would have gladly done so too, but as their guest they didn’t want us to take off our shoes. Even though I was a guest I felt like I should have taken my shoes off because I wanted to respect them and be treated as an equal. In my head I was thinking, “I am no one special. I’ve come to serve, love, and care for you! I want to lift you above myself.” This family we visited were such sweet and generous and kind people.

This family included a grandma, a dad, a little boy, and a little girl. They were in need of food, wood, comfort, peace, and some Jesus. We shared the word with them and prayed with them. Ashlyn and I got the chance to share why we follow Jesus. It was so cool for me because I haven’t answered that question in a while. Sharing aloud why I follow Jesus and who He means to me was so reassuring and gave me a sense of peace. Jesus is so good, guys, and I love Him!!

Before going over to the family’s home, we had went to the store and bought the family some food. We gave the food to the family at the end and wow their faces blew up with praise and thanksgiving. While we were there, we were able to pray and share Jesus with them, which I hoped would give them comfort and peace. So right there we were able to give the family food, peace, comfort, and Jesus!

Well… what about the wood? Oh, don’t worry, I will tell you! We didn’t bring any wood because the family didn’t tell us until we were ready to leave. They told us that the kids had been going to bed cold because they didn’t have enough money to get wood. So after we left, I prayed and asked the Lord to provide the family with wood for the winter. In less than 30 minutes we got a call and someone was able to provide the family with wood for the winter! LIKE WHAT!? Wow, Lord you are so Good and are always listening to our prayers! I am so thankful to be serving a God who hears me and who is living and active!

Praise the Lord for all that He does! Thank you all for your prayers and support. Home/hospital visits have been my favorite so far here in Romania.

(My heart aches for the people in this community. There is much poverty and a spiritual darkness here, and it’s hard for me to not just jump and give every person I see what they need. But the Lord is reminding me to be thankful for all that He has given me and is doing here. He is still reminding me of how there is victory everyday.)
