EVERYTHING IS NEW:

New teams, new roles, and a new country. There are so many things happening all at once!

What’s new:

Teams:
First, I would like to tell you about my first team, Team United. Team United was a team that fought for each other, spoke truth and pointed each other toward Jesus. We cultivated a safe environment, a place of trust, challenge, and growth. Most teams don’t have this much depth and love for one another. I am so glad to have spent the last four months with Chelsea, Brandi, Janele, Ashlyn and Kristi. (I cried like a baby because I was overwhelmed with emotion and love for my team). I have learned something new from each of them and I am so glad to call them sisters. Thank you, Jesus for placing these women in my life!

It’s crazy to believe that I will start to walk with new people for the next few months. I am praying there will be much laughter, excitement, growth, empowerment, vulnerability and openness with my new team. My new team in this season is called, “Empower Rangers” and I’m excited to know and grow closer to Dani, Jess, Melanie, and Kristi.

Position:
In this new season I am team treasurer. I am responsible of taking care of my team financially and staying in budget with food, lodging, supplies, transportation, etc.. During this time I am excited to learn and understand more of what being a good steward of the Lord’s money looks like. Pray that the Lord would grow me through this position. It’s a bit scary because I am handling actual money. Last time I was treasurer was when I was in high school and haha I never handled real money.

Country:
This month we are Botswana and I’m excited to know about the people, culture, history, and see what our ministry will look like here. This country has been independent for about 51 years. My team and I are placed in a rural village 30 minutes outside the capital city with an American family. The second day in the village we were fortunate to meet the chief and hear a little about its history.

The family we are staying with own a small cafe, are environmental friendly, and have a heart to serve and love the people of Botswana. They love to teach others how to be self sustaining through agriculture (aquaponics, drip irrigation, air irrigation, flood irrigation, and precision farming), business, and management. Pray as we begin our ministry here in the village of Kumakwane.

With all this newness I am reminded of being stripped of everything that is comfortable and seeing the Lord as my one constant and Him being my source of people and comfort!

Thank you so much for your support!

With much love,

Kelsey Yonnie
