These past few days have just flown by, and I am so thankful that my team (Team United) and I are safely settled in Novi Sad, Serbia. I’m very thankful to have a bed, a pillow, extra blankets, warm water, and delicious coffee. I didn’t know what to expect when I got here, but the Lord has provided beyond what my team and I have needed! This is an answered prayer. Before going on this trip I had been praying specifically for each country. The verse that I was praying over Serbia was Philippians 4:19, which says,

“And my God will supply all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus”

This prayer was answered by all our monetary needs that were met the first day. I’m excited to see how the Lord will use my team and I to help meet the needs of the people in the city of Novi Sad. It’s only been five days since we got here and it’s been pretty cool to look back at what’s happened. We have made many new friends, seen the beautiful city, become part of an awesome community, and joined in on the ministry.

One way I see the Lord working here is His provision for us and His gift of freedom in what our ministry looks like. It was a challenge trying to figure out what exactly our schedule would look like while here, but the Lord has given us so many opportunities. For example, last Thursday we participated in a drug prevention awareness event with our ministry host. During the rally there were also about 20 adorable Zumba kids promoting the event. They were dancing with their Zumba instructor, and of course I wanted to dance with them! So during their last set I jumped in with a few of my teammates and we had a blast. So many smiling, giggling faces! Kids warm my heart! After this, I had a feeling this would lead to something great and it did! We were invited to join their Zumba class 3x a week!

We have gone to one class so far and I’m so glad the Lord has placed us here to love and share Jesus with these kids. My prayer is that many of these young kids hear the gospel of Jesus and see that our joy and love is from the One who loves them so much more!

Zumba has been a blessing for my team and I because it’s provided an open door for ministry and relationships. It’s also been cool to see how dancing can be seen as us dancing with Jesus. In zumba they follow the instructor, but also have the freedom to add their own personality into the movements. We are choosing to let Jesus lead and use our diverse gifts and talents.

Along with zumba it’s been amazing to see our schedule come together with more ministry opportunities, like youth events, bible study, evangelism, and English class.

Please continue to pray for the people of Serbia! My heart continues to grow more and more everyday for these people. I will continue to blog once a week and keep you all updated!

I am also still funding, so please consider telling others about this exciting year-long journey and pray that I get fully funded.

With much love,
