It’s early here in Japan, but I wanted to give a quick update on our first TEN days in country. The Lord has been MULTIPLYING our time and rest, and we have seen and experienced so much of His power already.

A FEW HIGHLIGHTS:
NARITA (May 14-17)
-We started our time in Japan with a few days intercession in the countryside near the airport. God’s peace and fingerprints were all over this time and place as we continued to press into intercession as a team for the country, ministries, people and our time here in Japan. Every move in the Kindgom is orchestrated by God, I’m continuing to learn what it means to listen, rely and submit to His instruction.

-Our Airbnb host picked us up from the airport (wow), and we noticed a cross hanging from his rearview mirror. Over the next few days, we got to ask them about their affinity with the cross, worship together and really just love them and be loved by them. They became like adoptive grandparents! Before we left for the city, they gave each of us a cross necklace. We are praying where to spend our last nights here, and may end Japan with a quick debrief in the countryside before flying out. We are searching for a new Japanese Bible for them!

-They had a BIKE and WANTED us to use it! It’s the first time I’ve biked since August, and you know I was belting out songs of praise from all the fields! Can you say 5 bike rides in 3 days?!

TOKYO (May 17-23)
-Prayer walking through the red light districts and surrounding areas; feeling the intense heaviness of some of these places and believing in the power of prayer and intercession.

-Spending time with the church plant fellowship over meals, discussions, small group and worship. Be in prayer for Redeemer to Redeemer Roppongi church plant. You can learn more about this special fellowship at https://redeemertokyo.org/community.

-Though only 0.08% of the population is reportedly Christian, there is a Christian university here! All freshmen are required to take Christianity. We had the opportunity to tell these students about our travels and WHY we love Jesus. I got to share a testimony of healing I saw in Lebanon. Highlighting that our God is a living, healing, pursuing God. He is not a God of old, but one who desires relationship and works in the supernatural to free us, embrace us, make us come alive. After class, we got to talk with many students and spent the whole evening with them, telling them even more about the amazing, beautiful reality of relationship with Christ. Be in prayer specifically for our new friends as they wrestle with big questions

-Late night street evangelism and prayer in the red light in Tokyo. Meeting and praying with men and women on the streets. We were really touched by the opportunity to pray specifically for four bouncers, who were very hungry for and receptive to God’s touch and prayer.

-Early morning quiet times in parks and cafes. The sun rises at 4a here, and we’ve loved early morning exploration and park worship sessions!

-Using, getting lost and thriving on the subway system downtown. Picture this, us traveling to Yokohama yesterday in rush hour with our big backpacks. LOL.

-The cuisine. Rice, veggies, sushi. YUM!

YOKOHAMA (May 23-27)
-Meeting and worshipping with fellow believers from around the world at the SHINE conference—from Japan, UK, Australia, Switzerland, Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, California and Florida! Excited to see how the Spirit moves in these coming days.

THANK YOU for all your prayer and support. Your parternship is fueling the journey. Literally and spiriutually (: The Spirit is moving, and I’m excited to share in even more detail all the ways GOD IS MOVING in this country! More opportunities to interact in the Red Light districts, with military personal are on the horizon—but, also in the unexpected and rich, our hearts are open and following the Spirit’s lead here.

Each day is full of so many inviations for each of us. As God is meeting us here in Japan with such intention, He is a God extending an invitation to you too. Find someone to share His love and truth with today!
