Starting January 1 of 2015 I will be traveling with a squad of 50+ other people to multiple countries around the world. Each place we will be doing something different. Service ranges from working to help those caught in the sex slave industry to the gypsies of Romania and orphans in Africa. Needless to say we will have a lot on our hands, but there’s nothing more rewarding. We will live among the people. Amercing ourselves in their day to day struggles seeing what they go through. This isn’t just a go in and tell a warm and fuzzy story about Jesus, but going deeper and helping the lost find hope and getting them set free from all forms of bondage. We will be working with them to get them to a better life and one filled with purpose.

Not only do we have the privilege of changing lives for Christ and helping them find hope in a messed up world, but we who go on this will be challenged to grow in our faith. Other than feeling led to do this, I also chose to answer the call because I want the blinders off and my bubble poked. This revelation happened when the last natural disaster happened in the Philippines and after watching it on the news it bothered me a whole 2 seconds before I went back to my life unfazed. Later that night I felt there was something terribly wrong with that mindset and that wasn’t the kind of heart and attitude God wants me to have. So I started looking and found this. There is plenty to do here for God, but I feel too protected. Doing this trip for me, means getting my heart aligned with Christ’s and taking what I’ve gained over there and bringing it home to start something in my generation.

I’m reaching out to all of you to partner with me on this. God calls us to be His hands and feet, but getting mobilized takes time. I’m putting all of my trust in Him to provide the $16,250. My heart is to do something instead of solving the world’s problems while drinking at Starbucks knowing someone else will do something. No. I want to BE one of those people. I’m willing to give up all comforts and leave those I love to go to those who have none of those things because it breaks God’s heart and it’s starting to break mine.
