Those are just some things you will learn about me, but I want you to get to know me on a deeper level after finishing my blog. Here is some backstory about my life.
I grew up in Knoxville, TN, lived in the same house my whole life. My parents are Kelly and David Shreve and I have two younger sisters Kassey and Kaycey. We grew up going to church, but over time we just got busy and stopped going. In middle school I started attending Rocky Hill Baptist Church with some friends I had met. I enjoyed it, but I was mainly there to socialize and get out of the house because I was always grounded because of my grades!
Although I was there to socialize and make friends, I always felt something tugging at my heart. I had already been baptized, but never truly made the commitment to follow Jesus. The feeling was always there and a year or so later I finally decided to make the true commitment and give my heart to Jesus! After receiving God’s Grace and Forgiveness I was ready for what was ahead even though it was a hard journey.
Two years ago I started going to Faith Promise, I had gone church to church and this was the last try. I had prayed for God to send me to a church where I can be used, where I can grow, and where I can be sent out. The very first week I show up and I see Honduras Mission Trip meeting after service. Yes, I went and left service that day signed up and ready to go. The hard part was telling my parents what I was doing.
No one had ever been on a mission trip in my family and it wasn’t because they were against it, it was because they were scared something would happen to me. Well I came home and said well I am going to Honduras, and they said well have fun paying for it. If you know me well enough, I have always struggled to keep money in my account ( I swear the bank was taking from my account, money just vanished). Well sure enough God came through and I was off to Honduras. My life was forever changed. Honduras became more my home than my actual home. I knew God was going to do something with my life, I just didn’t know what.
I went back to Honduras last year and again I felt God saying be ready! After I graduated from TN Tech in May, I was ready to start teaching. I swore I had the job at Karns where I did my internship, but God had other plans. Nothing I had planned for my life was happening. I was suppose to have a teaching job, a potential husband, and a nice place to live. Well I’m a nanny, single, but I do have a nice apartment
.
Over the summer I am a camp counselor at Tate’s Day camp, and my part-timer told me about how she was going on the world race. She told me about it and I was like wow I want to do that, but I’ll never be able to get that kind of money. Well the thought stayed with me until God said GO! That is another story for another post! So here I am blogging about my future journey with the World Race.
I ask that you and your family or small group be in prayer over financially supporting me. You can give a one time donation or set up a monthly payment plan! If you can’t support me financially, then I ask that you be praying for me and my funding, my heart, and for the lives of the people that I will meet! Thank you so much for reading about me!!!
