One hour English. One hour worship. One hour bible.

1-4pm. 5 days a week.

This is my favorite part of the day.

This is when we get to teach 8 amazing boys.

We get to teach them English that will help them get a job one day. They repeat after us, they play our games, they laugh at us when we try to speak Thai and fail miserably. It is so different from teaching in the states. These boys want to learn. They are attentive. They are passionate.

Then we worship. I know that when these boys sing "one way Jesus, you are the way, the truth, and the light" in their broken English and Thai accents, God is filled with pride. Because when these boys sing, they sing with everything they have. They mean every word. They are the first ones to give praise back to the father despite all that they have been through.

Last is bible study. These boys KNOW the word of God. And even when things get lost in translation, which they often do, they are still eager to understand. After a past filled with so many lies, they are hungry for the truth.

These boys have had rough lives. They have been abandoned. Most have been rescued from sex trafficking and prostitution. If anyone in this world has a right to be angry and bitter, it's these boys. But they aren't. They're filled with joy. Because they know the truth. They are living out 2 Corinthians 5:17, they are new creations. Their pasts don't define them. Jesus defines them. I love seeing the Father restore his people. He is a God of redemption. And hope. And I'm so glad I get to be part of that for these boys.
