Just a few days ago I was hanging out at my grandparents house helping keep my 5 year old twin cousins, Ruby and Stella. These girls will rock yer world in a heart beat. So hear is the story…
After their dinner and bath the three of us, and my guitar, cuddled up in a bed with our pj’s and wet hair. I decided to teach them just a one-liner in one of my favorite Jonathan Helser songs… “You are an endless ocean, a bottomless sea”. They both had this look in their eyes like, would you just strum?! So i began slowly and with a voice just a step higher than a hum… and i wish i could have bottled up the next few minutes… just thinking about it, i want to go back to that moment. As I started flicking the strings harder and raising my voice (to help them know it was okay to sing, no matter what yer voice sounds like).. well they caught on quick and before i knew it they were singing louder than I was… mostly the word Ocean and Sea but the best part was the way their faces turned red with hard laughter… and tears came to my eyes watching them squeeze eachother and laugh into each others blonde curles. Not long after their hug session with eachother were they dancing all over the bed and floor in front of the bed… this moment… that fabulous-heavenly-moment made me realize why God loves for His children to become like children. There is a joy that, for most of us, is stuck somewhere deep inside… to frightened by the thoughts of others to come out. But not for Ruby and Stella, they found that joy and released it with song, dance, laughter, spinning, yelling non-sense… i loved it. I long for moments like this for all of us, just times when we dont look around us but only release whats within us.. who cares right? Where they dancing and singing for me? Nope. Where they laughing just to entertain eachother? nope. We all have it, God placed Himself inside of us… all around us. The joy of the Lord, the peace of the Lord. Nothing like it. Nothing like Him.
So cheers loves, cheers to releasing the dance, cheers to becoming childlike.

the beauties!
