Month 8 (February 2016): During our month in Thailand, my team was assigned to do an ATL month. ATL stands for “Ask the Lord.” We had no host, no place to stay, and no ministry. We spent a couple days at a hostel in Bangkok praying about where the Lord wanted to send us. It was incredible having the opportunity to trust God daily and let him guide our steps. We started in Bangkok, where we got to pray for direction and also go into the red light district to show the love of Christ to the women working at the bars. We then took a train to Pattaya, which is one of the biggest places for sex trafficking in the world. At this point, we still had no idea what we were going to do there or who we would meet. Only God would be able to lead us to a man named Jack who actually owned a resting home for missionaries called the Rodem House. He was incredible and helped us get in contact with our new friend Janet and other ministries in Pattaya. Through those ministries we got to see how the Lord is working in the hearts of the Thai people even in the midst of the chaos. I will never forget the people we met, the relationships we built, and how God was faithful through the entire process.
Here’s a little glimpse of my month in Thailand!
P.S: We got to be tourists for a couple days too :).
