I have just gotten home from a week living in the mountains of Tennessee, training for The World Race.  On the drive there as some teammates and I were talking about all of the things we had heard about past training camps, the doubts, fears and the constant thought of “what did I get myself into?” repeated in my head.  By the middle of the week I was, and still am, 100% certain that God has been preparing me for this journey and I cannot wait to launch into the nations in January.

There were plenty of times last week that were full of joy, love, and praising God but it was also a week of challenges. And it was tough. It was mentally, physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually tough.  Walls were broken down and wounds were healed.

So let me introduce you to my family for the next year.  This group is called 3rd Generation C-Squad and they are all ready to go change the world.

C-Squad is broken down into several smaller groups that will be living and serving together.  I am blessed to be apart of Team Sparrow.

I cannot wait to serve alongside these 5 other wonderful women of God.

Jesus speaks about sparrows in the Bible several times:

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Matthew 6: 25-27

29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31

You see Jesus uses these simple common birds to represent our value.  Sparrows are small, brown birds that live their lives flying around and God cares for them. He truly does. God protects them, feeds them, cares for them, and loves them.  This God is doing the exact same thing for you and me.  God is watching our daily struggles and daily joys.  He witnesses our life and wants to be a part of it.  We don’t need to worry about anything in our lives because God has got it covered.  We all have value, you and me, and God sees and values every single one of us.  He is an alive and active God.  So we are team Sparrows.  We are ready to serve, love, and fly after God, knowing in full confidence that He will protect us and guide us.

Enjoy this song below.  Whether you feel strong or you feel weak God is there for you and it’s all going to be okay. No need to worry because the Lord God has already gone before you, is walking with you now, and will be with you for years and years to come in his tight Embrace.
