At 6:00 am, I woke up to the sound of running water from the sink in the kitchen of our cozy little house in Malawi.

Back in the States, that probably would have been annoying or an inconvenience, but having been without running water for the las two days it was the best sound we could’ve imagined. Dirty dishes, laundry, and not to mention the layer of filth we were each collecting on our bodies began to pile up and all we could do was pray in faith that God would provide. And He did.

He always does. I never knew the depths of the ways I took all of the Lord’s blessings for granted. My parents tried to tell me in high school but I couldn’t understand what I hadn’t experienced. How to live in need. I’ve never thanked God for running water because in most places of America water comes as faithfully as the sun sets and rises.

I have seen The Lord provide countless times before the race and all throughout this journey of learning how better to deny my self-reliant tendencies. They are vast.

Growing up, God had given me a more than comfortable lifestyle through my parents. In College, the Lord always provided work and money to live. In the Dominican Republic, God provided strength for the daily tasks of manual labor. In Haiti, I witnessed God provide food, water, and showers of rain for the families who lived in these hot boxes leaving them more desperate for relief than shelter. In Honduras, God provided protection over my team, the orphans, and the ministry we served every single night. He provided freedom for hundreds of victims of rape, incest, and domestic violence through the work of Mama Gracie. In Guatemala, God provided contacts for the world race that we set out to find in the capital. He provided new fellowship and shelter. He provided a place of refuge when a small group of us set out to preach the gospel in a village of unreached people. In Zambia, God provided life, music, and joy to share with the beautiful children we met. Throughout the entire race thus far, He has provided reliable transportation, health and restoration from sickness, He has provided funds, He has provided joy and willing spirits. He has provided compassion and moveable hearts. He has provided miracles such as physical healing. He has provided ears to hear and eyes to see. He has provided and He will continue to provide, faithfully.

It begs the question: Who can say that they have come to God and have been left empty-handed?

The Lord will Provide.
He never stops.
The LORD always provides every need.
