Thailand is such a cool country. My new team and I have spent the first week adjusting to one another, getting to know the culture, ministry and people we work with. Finally, I feel like I am experiencing authentic culture that is far removed from the western world. We eat delicious thai curry and pad thai each day and everything is in thai. I love it.

Our day is typically broken up into hours. There are two schools we go to in groups for a few hours throughout the week. Each day after lunch there is a boys bible study, music class, boys english class, girls english class, and girls bible study that are all approximately an hour.

My favorite hour every day is when I work with Bon who is much more proficient in his English than some of the other boys so we work separately to improve his skills. Yesterday a 69 year old man, named WiSut, came to join the lesson and my teammate Kelly tagged along. It was incredible and absolutely beautiful. I don’t know how else to describe it. This man, WiSut, tells us his his testimony of how he was a buddhist for 68 years but today he loves Jesus. Bon and him are so wonderful to teach. They’re smart and so on fire to know the LORD more.

Kelly and I were in tears today from the joy we received in teaching them. They asked us, “Teacher, what does God want us to do?” We were literally jumping up and down and high fiving each other because it was such  sweet moment.

Such pure faith. Just love God and tell people about Him.

Continually blessed with the truths God has revealed to me and opportunities to share in it with people of a completely different culture, language, and nation. What a gift. I wish I could fly you here to meet WiSut and Bon, eat amazing thai food, and teach English with me.

Trying to upload pictures but this website isn’t having it with my ipad.

“God made a place.” Kedesh was definitely a magical place unlike any other where time seemed to stand still and Rehoboth just felt like home. Both ministries were shorter months compared to the rest of the race but that didn’t stop us from forming such meaningful friendships.

My three favorite ministries on the race have all had the same living circumstances in common: living on a compound with orphans. I love people and doing life with people. When I think of Honduras, Mozambique, the Philippines and of course America I feel like I have family all over the world.

Two things I’ve learned and sat on with jesus a lot: opportunity and contentment. Life is exciting and always what you make of it. People are too. God gives us so many opportunities to love and do good. So many. Phil 4:13 was never a verse intending to target your performance and IS about finding an untainted contentment and satisfaction in Jesus through all circumstances. THEN comes the bi-product of being able to accomplish all that he calls us to.

Feeling content and joyful through all the things. Stepping down in logistics, my mom being radically changed and transformed by jesus, writing music, singing/hanging out with talented and passionate high schoolers, broken hammocks, seasons of unknown, Saying goodbyes at the end of each month which are seemingly getting harder and easier at the same time, I sleep with ants, we have a pet rat named Leonard who is apprx the size of a well fed cat, and even though our toilet is more often clogged than it is available anything is better than a squatty potty. No complaints. ( :
