Every Saturday night, we have a bonfire and worship with a brief message. It is one of my favorite times throughout the week.
Last Monday-9/1/2014-Heart of Christ(the ministry we are working with), received a mother and her 3 children as victims of domestic violence to stay with us on the compound. I've never witnessed anybody go through something as hard as they have. The details are gruesome so I will spare you and leave it at the fact that they've had an incredibly hard life.
Mama Gracie turns on the worship music and about halfway through, Juana, the mother and her 17 year old step daughter are in tears. I go over to lay hands and pray for them and you could just feel their brokenness. It was heart wrenching and rendered me speechless.
When the music was over, tears are still being poured out. Mama Gracie starts preaching and when she had finished she walked over to Luis-Juana's 15 year old son and asked if he had accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord of his life. He shook his head no. After explaining what that meant, he received Christ and wanted to be baptized that night. The same was for his younger sister, Milagros who is only 7 years old. Gracie shared the gospel and prayed over both of them.
Meanwhile, Juana was so upset and broken she had gone back into her room.
I can't imagine going through so much that it would break me to the point of not having any strength to see my own kids accept Jesus.
Alejandra (17) also accepted Jesus after comforting her mother.
The three children were baptized that night in the well where we do laundry. It was so beautiful!!
You can be praying for Juana and lifting her up with us. She is heavily burdened and bears so much weight from all the grief that her husband has caused and is continually causing her as we speak. Making threats, stalking and kidnapping family members for ransom. My heart breaks for her-she can't tell me in English but I can see it all over her face how worn out she is.
The only peace I have from the situation comes from The Lord. I trust him with this situation and find rest in knowing that He is at work. His hand is in this and I believe she will be delivered from her suffering.
