Hola. Hola. Salam. Namaste. Kamusta.
Those are the 4 languages I’ll be saying hello in when I leave for the World Race. You’re probably wondering why I typed “Hola” twice… You’re also probably wondering why I would be speaking four different languages if I am going to 3 different countries.
I can explain.
“Every day God invites us on the same kind of adventure. It’s not a trip where He sends us a rigid itinerary, He simply invites us. God asks what it is He’s made us to love, what it is that captures our attention, what feeds that deep indescribable need of our souls to experience the richness of the world He made. And then, leaning over us, He whispers, ‘Let’s go do that together.'” -Bob Goff, Love Does
You see, God invites us to trust in Him with the littlest of little things and the biggest of big things. There is no computerized GPS telling us which way to turn in 300 feet; the only GPS we have is faith. He doesn’t map out our lives in front of us; He calls us to take a step in faith, and then another, and another, and another.
I’ve officially switched World Race routes.
I will no longer be leaving in October; going to Guatemala, Malawi, and Thailand; or spending $13,805.
My new route leaves in September; I will be going to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Ethiopia, Nepal, and the Philippines; and I need to raise $14,805.
That’s five countries. And an extra thousand dollars. And a month sooner. But I serve the God of miracles and of the impossible, and He will provide the funds I need to make this happen. This is His trip. This is for His glory. This is to expand the kingdom and make His name famous!
I know what you’re thinking… BUT WHAT ABOUT THE T-SHIRTS!?!??!?!?!
Yes, I know, my t-shirts have Guatemala, Malawi, and Thailand on them. But that’s okay. Maybe I’ll do another t-shirt fundraiser. Maybe not. Maybe that’s not even what you were thinking and I totally jumped the gun. Oops.
Maybe you’re just thinking I’m crazy and this entire time the chorus of Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy has been resounding throughout your mind. Which, in that case, you’re in good company, because I haven’t been able to get the song out of my mind all day. What can I say? It’s an ear-worm.
But really, there is something so magnificent about the sweet peace that accompanies trusting in God with all of your decisions. I don’t need a fancy yoga pose to destress and have a peace of mind. I just need Jesus.
I hope that you will consider partnering with me on this journey of faith. It hasn’t been a cakewalk, but it has been worth it. If you have any questions about anyyyy of my shenanigans for Jesus, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I can’t do this without support in prayer and in donations.
With that being said, have a good week folks.
“Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling!” Psalm 43:3
“Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.” Psalm 25:5
