AIM has created an acronym, ATL, which stands for Ask The Lord. It’s a type of ministry that’s Faith-stretching and full of expectancy! There’s no agenda, no plan, no prep except for willing hearts to go where the Father is leading, do what He’s doing, and speak what He’s speaking. After all, that’s what Jesus did right? (John 14:10)
When our new team arrived last week, one of the first exercises we did with them was an ATL. A person from our team partnered up with one of their members for a one-on-one training experience.
Hayley and I were partnered up so we made our way to the backyard and began praying for the Lord’s guidance. After a few minutes, we shared what we were getting.. hope, joy– and sure enough both of us got a picture of a yellow church. Seeing that this was Hayley’s first ATL she was already excited to see that this stuff “really does work”!
We set off to find the yellow church…
When we got there, a homeless man approached us asking for money- instead of giving him money we asked if he had any pain in his body. He explained how he couldn’t lift his left arm and it causes him a lot of problems sooo. we went to work. We began declaring healing over this man, we commanded tendons to strengthen, and Hayley gave a word addressing his spiritual poverty and the love that Christ had for him. It was powerful! After praying a couple of times, the man lifted his arm and held it high! Gloria a Dios! He thanked us and we spoke blessing over him
We’d just witnessed a miracle.
Not knowing at the time there was more to come.
We entered the church and prayed for a release of the Father’s love and the freedom of His Spirit into the spiritually dry atmosphere. As we were praying a lady walked in and the Lord highlighted her to me- I knew we needed to pray for her.
After a few minutes she got up to leave and we followed her.. feeling a little stalker-ish we struck up a conversation and she spoke back in English (Praise God! Up until this point we were getting by with my broken Spanish)
We told her there was a person we were looking for who needed joy and hope spoken into them (these were two words we had gotten back at the house), and how we thought she was that person. Tears quickly began to fill her eyes and the Lord began touching her. She couldn’t believe that God would send two strangers to reach out to her. She began sharing her story with us; her heart was deeply grieved with pain and her sciatic nerve was causing her physical pain. As we began praying for her, her group of friends walked over to us. They joined in agreement that pain, emotional and physical, had been weighing her down.
I asked her if she wanted Jesus to heal her heart and her physical pain- a teary-eyed and weak “yes” faintly left her mouth. We stood with her in agreement and commanded pain to leave her body and for health and wholeness to reign; her friends placed hands on me as I placed a hand on her lower back. After a few moments, I looked up at her and her face crashed into her hands as she shouted “It’s gone! It’s gone!” She couldn’t believe it. Jesus had healed her and touched her in a second. Full restoration. Then we prayed for her heart and spoke life, joy, and healing over her. Within minutes her friends were saying, “Look at her eyes! Her joy is back! The light has come back into your eyes!” Speaking of eyes, there wasn’t a dry one in our whole group. We all knew we had just taken part in something very holy.
The Lord totally touched her, and I confidently say that her life is forever changed. We continued to talk, exchanged information, and I look forward to keeping up with her & her friends.
After saying bye, a lady approached us out of no where. You could see pain all over her body- back, neck, shoulder, etc. We proclaimed the gospel to her and how much the Father loves her; we commanded pain to go and for healing to come. Pain instantly left those places listed above. She was healed.
Now our heads were reaaally spinning.. what the heck just happened!! We were both beside ourselves and I looked at Hayley and said, “Welp, welcome to your new normal.”
When Jesus said “whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do” (John 14:12) He wasn’t kidding!
The Supernatural literally can become natural. Whatcha waitin for?
