This month our group attended a conference in Guatemala. This conference was mainly for spiritual leaders of Guatemala to gather together, and be refreshed by the Lord.
And it was just that! It was incredibly refreshing to be with thousands and thousands of believer worshiping Our Lord in Spirit and in Truth!
One of my favorite speakers was Jorge Lopez.
Jorge addressed our desire for greatness, but that seeking greatness outside the Kingdom leads to death.
We’re only great because we’re under Christ- we’re the donkey exalting the King so that He receives the worship; just like it’s pictured in John 12- He rode in on a little donkey and the people of the feast met Him and cried out Hosanna!
Being great is about serving & it’s in the humble- you start serving, you continue serving, & you die serving!
We’re famous in Christ, but without Him we are nothing so when people acknowledge your giftings, etc. and say thank you, receive the compliment but know on the inside that you’re just a donkey 🙂
Being a ” little donkey” ended up being a theme for the rest of the conference, many other speakers referenced this phrase during their talks, including Heidi Baker (more to come on her in another blog)
It was much later when the translation of our address hit us square in the face! We live on Callejon del Burritos, which in English means “The Alley of Little Donkeys”
Yep.
We are lil donkeys exalting our King, and our greatness is marked with serving, humility, and worshiping our Lord.
