One thing I didn’t realize about Indonesia, is that it has the largest muslim population of any other country in the world. Fun fact i’ve also not met a single one that was mean or hateful. The people here are super kind and love to play and joke around so thats been pretty neat. That’s not to say there’s not some bad apples out there and in light of the Jakarta bombing Isis does exist here.
I dont know a whole lot about muslims or their religion. What I do know is they have a very ritualistic 5 time a day prayer time that they pray every single day. The first one being at 4 AM every single morning. So also, I guess somewhere in the al Quran it says that there should be a mosque within walking distance in every village or whatever. With that, the house we’ve been staying in has two mosques very close. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard the call to prayer but they get on a loud speaker and basically pray and chant something in arabic. I know I sound super intelligent right now but I literally don’t know much this is just what I’ve gathered while being here.
So yeah that 4am prayer comes every morning everyday and every single time it catches me off guard. I guess it was probably about the third day or so I got hit with a revelation. So a pretty common prayer that I think God hears from most christians is that he would break our hearts for what breaks his. Yeah well he does answer that prayer. 4am I wake up, dudes screamin in the loud speaker and I start thinking, God hears that too… Well then I start hearing the other mosque down the street. God can hear that one too… Well geeze how many mosque are there in Indonesia or over the entire world? Id say thousands if not hundreds of thousands easy. And he hears every single one of them. Everyday, 5 times a day… How heart breaking is that to actually sit in and think about.
That breaks my heart! God loves his children so much yet he has to sit back and listen to millions of people worship and pray to a God that doesn’t even exist. When their supposed God strikes a talley against their name every time they miss one of those prayers. Imagine being the most devout obedient muslim. Imagine reaching the end of your life. Imagine that exact instant where you die. Imagine the cross over thinking your entire life you’re about to land in paradise and boom you don’t… An eternal lake of fire and the entire time this so called God was nothing more then a lie created by satan and he’s just laughing hysterically. How would that kind of reality set with you? How does it set with God? You don’t think that makes him cry? This is happening thousands of times a day! This 100 percent breaks God’s heart. Is this not sad to anyone else? Muslim or not people are dying with a harsh eternal reality daily… And what can we even do about it?
How crazy would it sound to think God has the ability to break out worldwide revival? What if somehow we as christians, I’m not talking those that just claim christianity because they’re supposed to or to fit in to certain criteria on facebook, Im talking about followers of Jesus Christ. What if all followers decided to answer our ultimate call? To truly live out his greatest commission? Of which is not possible without love. Can you imagine what that would look like? Can you imagine what it would be like if everyone on earth began to love again? No one was scared anymore? Radical islam gone. Human trafficking gone. Murder hatred violence sexual immorality gone. What a beautiful world we could live in!! Now, unfortunately this will never happen but just hear me out. What if, all Christians decided to look at abba God as a God big enough, powerful enough, mighty enough to make such a thing happen?? Can you see that? Can we try to wrap our minds around that and imagine him as the universal God that he is? Wow, the impact we could have on this world!
So I want to challenge you. I want you to take God for what he is which is no where near what any of us have ever imagined him to be our entire lives. We give our selves entirely too much credit to think that our tiny little minds can even slightly begin to fathom the magnitude of our father. We say this a lot too that we put God in a box. No I don’t believe that either. For me I believe humans see ourselves as more then we really are. We cant box God in. You think he cares about your box? No, We are nothing more then a spec of dust! My challenge to you is begin to see your self as what we truly are. How tiny we truly are. How next to nothing we truly are. God is vast. Im on the other side of the world and its still the same size as it was when I was in America. The Earth is nothing. The earth is a spec of dust. Our Father is universal! He is everything. He is in all with all and through all. Think about ALL. Remember the word infinity as a kid? Remember how far our minds could wonder when we thought about infinity? I love you times infinity, you cant beat that, infinity never ends. God is infinite! He is infinity and he loves YOU times infinity!
My thinking is that when we can truly open ourselves up to how next to nothing we really are, God can begin to open himself up to how much YOU really mean to him. When you jump out of that box you think you’re putting God in. God’s saying hey ok! You want this? You wanna know this? You wanna feel this? Do you want to begin to see what I have for you!? I believe when we can do that we allow God to truly begin to transform our lives. Thats letting him take control from the inside out. Im tired of living from the outside in, are you? Im tired of thinking i’ve got to have it all together. I’m tired of thinking i’ve got someone to impress. I’m tired of looking at my self in the physical knowing God wants to control me from the spiritual.
So here’s another thought. Having seen, felt and tasted this love. What else is there to do but give it away? If we are living and breathing God from the inside out this wont even be a thought! Loving people becomes our nature. It becomes who we are as opposed to a daily agenda. And if you touch someone with the love of God just as you have been touched, love becomes that persons reality and the next persons and the next persons and so on and so forth. It’s a chain that cannot be broken! Looking at it in this light a worldwide revival doesn’t seem so huge anymore. Whats that corny saying, with love anything is possible lol. The Beatles had it right man, all we need is love. Go love yourself. Go love someone. I love you.
