I’m just going to go ahead and throw this out there, I applied and was accepted to do another trip with Adventures in Missions called Kingdom Journeys: Pioneers. This is a five month trip beginning in January through the Middle East. Yes this January after I come home. I will start out in Istanbul, Turkey and end in Cairo, Egypt. The main objective and point of this trip is simply to prepare the way for future World Race squads to come into this particular region of the world to serve. We will be meeting with possible ministry contacts and searching for men of peace. We will also be calculating travel cost, transportation, lodging and of course safety. There is obviously a great need in these predominantly Muslim countries and this trip allows us to be just a small part of a much greater picture that God is painting in the Middle East.
How does this trip pertain to me and my future? At the beginning of the race I’d say I had pretty much the same idea about Muslims as anyone else. I really didn’t know anything about them or Islam. All I knew was what I saw on T.V. And social media. So that’s the picture I had in my mind of Muslims going into the race. I had no idea that God would break my heart for these people or this area of the world. He’s opened my eyes to so much more then the mentality that they’re all terrorists and hate everybody because that’s just not true. He’s shown me how much he truly loves and longs for these people to know his son and know him as the Father that he is.
To be quite honest I don’t have the slightest idea what He’s going to do with this burning in my heart. I do know that right now this is the direction we are going. Islam and Muslims is where he is sending me and what I am saying yes to. Is this long term? I have no clue. What I do know is this trip is providing me with a lot more experience and exposure to Islamic nations and their culture. From a bigger picture also allowing me to have a hand in what God is doing through the World Race and Adventures in Missions in the Middle East. This has the potential to reach countless lives and bring the kingdom to an area that desperately needs it.
So with all of that said I get to begin the joyous task of fundraising. Woohoo! I am so excited… just kidding, not really though lol. I do know now though from experience that God will provide my absolute every need. Stepping out and trusting him in faith has been such a huge part of this past year and he has continued to come through for me time and time again. There’s no doubt in my mind that this leg of the journey will be any different. But the thing is, is I really need your help. I really need you to pray about supporting me. There’s no possible way I’d be here without you or where I’m going without you. So this is what I need.
The entire trips cost is $7,690.
There is a $150 deposit. This allows me to secure my spot and set up my blog and fundraising account.
My first deadline of $2,500 is due November 11th.
Deadline number 2 December 9th of $4,500
Third deadline January 6th of $6,500
I need to be fully funded, $7,690 within a month of being on the field.
I do still have plenty of T-shirts to sell and am coming up with other ideas for fundraising. I’ve also bought some things from around the world that I will be selling to raise support as well. I love to speak in front of people so if you have a church or small group or anything like that that would be willing to allow me to come speak for a love offering that would be awesome too. With this though I do have a short window from the time I get home ( November 21st) until the time I fly out again (January 10th). So let me know if you have any ideas.
