This is all squad month for G squad. We are staying at ICM close to the city of Ongole. There are 3 sleeping and 2 bath rooms for the girls and the boys have 2 rooms and a bathroom. Most of our time is spent gathered at the 'fountain' at ICM or doing ministry. This is just to give you an idea of what we so daily.
Here is our 'schedule'
8 am: breakfast
8:30 am: team devotional
9 – 12:30/1pm: free (ish) time
12:30/1pm: lunch
2 pm: leave for ministry
2:30/3:30 pm: arrive at ministry site
3:30/4 pm: village evangelism
7/8pm: church starts
10:30- midnight: arrive back at ICM
This is what it really looks like:
-sleep until 8:30 am or so
-breakfast sometime between 9-9:15 am
– G squad devo immediately after (recently changed to right before breakfast)
– Team Aperture devo at 9:30 am ish
– free time activities: T-25, Bible study, games, reading with Rebekah, team time, laundry and/ or free time.
– lunch arrives around 1:30 or even sometimes 2 pm
– leave for ministry around 2:30/2:45 pm
– between 3 and 3:30 pm we arrive at the village
– then we 'rest' usually with a cold soda, sometimes with the whole village watching, sometimes playing with kids, interviewing the pastor
– 4:45-5 pm we head out to pray for people in the village
– head back to the church around 6:30 or 7 pm (sometimes we eat before church)
– church begins around 8:15/30 pm
– 9:15 pm or so, church ends and we pray for all the people who came. (Then we eat if we didn't before)
– 10 pm or so we get in the auto to head home
– we go straight to bed when we get home… after we talk to the other teams, decompress, and shower if it's our night
I know it seems like we have a lot of 'free' time but we really just go go go. Most of us are tired a lot of the time because we don't sleep well, we try to ignore the heat but it zaps a lot out of you.
So this is a 'typical' day in India. And it can change at any moment. Our day 'off' is Monday. I love it though, admist the heat, bug bites, miscommunications, being in the 'middle of nowhere,' etc.
I will update on the food situation soon.
Love y'all
