11 things I ate:
1. Gulupsi/cabbage rolls (Summer and I made them)
2. Yummy greekish yogurt from the market
3. Potatoes (almost every meal)
4. Soup (lunch everyday)
5. Porridge (breakfast)
6. Crepes (breakfast)
7. Tortilla chips (birthday gift)
8. Persimmon (fruit)
9. Popcorn
10. Schwarma
11. Placinta (kinda like a pie crust filled with potatoes or whatever you want)
11 Things I did
1. Learned some Russian
2. Taught conversational English
3. I watched as people who were stoic and closed off on the streets came to life as they praised Jesus in church
4. Emailed Bob Goff and Chick-fil-a to see if they would meet my squad at the LAX airport (Chick-fil-a came with chicken sandwiches!!!!)
5. Celebrated my 28th birthday
6. Pulled weeds/small trees
7. Moved buckets of mud from a basement to random ‘holes’ in the yard
8. Lived in an unrecognized country
9. Celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8
10. Shopped at Sheriff – local grocery store that is on EVERY corner
11. Attended a Sozo session thing (Google Bethel Sozo)
11 Random things about month 9
1. I ran for 45 min along a beautiful path by the river
2. Found a statue of Lenin in the city center
3. I was ‘serenaded’ by a violin for my birthday
4. Played a lot of Texas Hold ’em for M&Ms or teddy grahams
5. Had to be careful where I spoke English
6. Taught a little Spanish to Mary (my Canadian team leader)
7. I finished 2 Samuel & started 1 Kings
8. I found/purchased Mary Kay 🙂
9. I bought honey, pickles and yogurt at the open market
10. Became slightly addicted to instant cappuccino packets
11. Learned new ‘warm-ups’ from Sam to help my running form.
