Our month in India is almost up so here are my #11in11:
11 things I ate:
1. Naan
2. Chapati
2. Chicken Curry
4. Sour curd (I added honey to make it more like sweet Greek yogurt)
5. Julab guman – donut type things
6. Dahl – chopped or mashed up veggies
7. White rice
8. Mutton
9. Bananas
10. Guava
11. Tameric rice
11 things I did:
1. Went to the Bay of Bengal
2. Found out I'm allergic to curry leaf – no clue the real name
3. Anointed people with oil and prayed over some oil
4. Spoke multiple times about my testimony (being a child of God and chosen)
5. Helped baptize 1 person and watched 8 others be baptized in a 'watering hole'
6. Survived a month without air conditioning in 90+ degree heat
7. Wore a sari (saree) #sarinotsorry
8. Found a ice cream place that had multiple flavors and charged by weight like fro-yo
9. Rode several miles in an auto (small truck like thing with tonka truck tires)
10. Prayed and laid hands over hundreds of people
11. Witnessed God work miracles
11 Things I learned:
1. His timing is everything
2. Speaking encouragement and positivity out loud is HUGE for personal attitudes and thoughts
3. Air conditioning and fans are a luxury
4. I was schooled in laundry by a beautiful older woman. Soak – ring out – slap on the ground (a process you kinda have to see for yourself) – rinse – ring out – dry
5. It is possible to find alone time with 40+ other people
6. You can be served delicious lemonade and coffee in a jewelry store
7. While it is immodest to show shoulders and ankles – midriff is ok. (I covered mine as much as possible in my sari)
8. People who have nothing, will give you everything to serve you
9. Love in Jesus and hope is all we need
10. I learned more about my teammates which is always fun
11. You can never pray enough, pray for others enough or receive enough prayer
