DAY TWENTY-EIGHT / #fortydayfloodoflove
In the Details

I know… you’re probably wondering why I’m posting about body wash now.

It seems like just about everyone and their dog is posting, and trying to sell, some sort of bathroom product these days – face washes, toothpastes, shampoo.

But I promise I’m not trying to sell anything today. I just need you to bear with me here.

A few days ago I was at the mall with my friend. We walked past the FIRST bath and body works that I have seen in a year !!!!!! EVEN BETTER… Christmas scents were out ?? I was pretty sure I had died and gone to holiday heaven right there.

Funny thing was I had just run out of body wash the day before. It must be a sign. So I walked right on over to the travel size and thought about how nice it would be to have a little piece of America in my shower.

A nice little 2.5 oz of America for the small price of ….. $7
WOAH.

Yeah, I didn’t buy it.
(I’ve been working on this thing called budgeting, and it helps me avoid the marketing schemes of Americas institutions- like BBW Vanilla Bean Noel scents. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND)

Self. control. engaged.
I got my groceries and went home a little sad that I would have to bum around for some body wash, but I figured I could survive on scraps for a little while.

Then, the following evening my host family messaged me and asked if we needed anything from the grocery store. Having been just the night before, I politely declined.

And you know what?! They still came home with this body wash!! For us !! They didn’t even know I needed it!! But now I have MORE than enough body wash to last until I go home. No more scraps for me because I’m living like a queen.

It’s a silly and simple story, but holding this soap makes me feel super loved by Jesus.
Call it a coincidence, but I’ve lived a year of these “coincidences” and I’m convinced that God is in the details, too.
