I wouldn’t call myself a writer or blogger, so hopefully by December of next year you’ll have seen some improvement! I apologize for not updating sooner, but if you’re craving an update feel free to bug me about it!

Two small side notes: 1) if I don’t feel God nudging me to do something, I’m 99.9% more likely to bail if I don’t like it anymore, 2) God speaks to people in many different ways, and one of the clearer ways for me to understand is through images.

So how did I decide on this route… or even to go on the WR:

I didn’t even ask God about the career I’m in now. I felt I knew myself and what’s best for me, but boy was I wrong! Don’t get me wrong, the healthcare field is a great career, but it’s just not for me. So when I don’t like something, I bail. However, right now there wasn’t really any other career I was interested in jumping into. Enter the WR. I’ve had friends who have gone on the WR in the past, and they had nothing but good things to say about it. What could be better than spending the next year serving God around the world?! It sounds awesome, but don’t worry I did pray about it (so I won’t be bailing)! When asking God about going on the WR, I received a clear image of a green light. Alright, I’ll go!

How’d I choose this route? Incase you didn’t know, there are 5 routes leaving at the same time. This route had a mix of SE Asia, Africa, and Central America. All places I had been interested in going to, but honestly I didn’t pray about it, I just picked one. Once I was accepted to this route, I couldn’t help but want to switch to the expedition route (it goes to countries where the majority of people have never heard of Jesus, or that He died on the cross to save us from our sins so that we could have a personal relationship with Him)! I decided to start praying for the countries on the expedition route (Operation World is an awesome source for this), but then the craziest thing happened. While I was praying for this other route, God had other plans and showed me exactly why I needed to stay where I was. Here are the three images I got:

1) A boy from Nicaragua (a country on this route but not the other) who looked around the high school age, but needed to work long hours to support his family. He put on a brave and confident face, but deep inside he was exhausted from all the work, but didn’t want his family to see that. Why would this be important? The countries from Central America were really hanging me up because the majority of the population already claims to be Christian. I wanted to share with people who had never heard of Him before. However, through this image I realized the journey of Paul (a really cool guy from the Bible). He went around encouraging the believers in some of the countries he passed. I feel like this is what God is calling me to do in these countries next year! That confirms 4 of the 11 countries.

2) An image of the word Muslim. Six of the other countries I’ll be going to claim to have Muslim as one of the top 3 religions. That confirmed 6 out of 11, for a total of 10/11 so far!

3) That leaves one country left… Cambodia. I saw an image of three Cambodian toddlers playing in the dirt. They were looking towards me, but their stares were blank with no joy in sight. I want to them to know that they are loved! Confirmed 11/11!

I received those three images before putting them all together. I didn’t know that the word Muslim would knock off 6 countries, or that Cambodia would be the only country left, I just knew they meant something together! Thank you God for revealing things to us! All we need to do is listen (or look)! So, through this confirmation, I believe God has led me to this route, and I can’t wait to see all the things He has to show me this upcoming year! I’m trying to get someone to draw these three images, so when I do I’ll be posting them!

I know this was a long post, so thanks for reading if you made it this far!
