…and we listen (and share it), AMAZING things can happen.
Day who knows what at training camp (they all blended together), we had a time to share with people in our group. Now I was put in a group with 4 others (3 of whom I had never met or talked to before). We closed our eyes, and just shared out loud any image or word God put on our heart. These words were specifically for someone in our group (who our leader had tapped on the shoulder when we first closed our eyes).
These are the images and words I received:
Willow (I thought of Avatar and Pocahontas)
Red rocks (I pictured the Wave and Sedona, but didn’t think others would know what they were – these are both in Arizona)
Rose
A person in the driver’s seat
Now they didn’t mean anything to me, and it seemed weird just saying them out loud… but I really hoped that they would mean something to someone in my group.
Little did I know, they would…
The person in our group who was tapped at the beginning shared about their fear of losing loved ones while being gone for so long. Last time they were away in Arizona (red rocks, sedona, the wave) a loved one of theirs passed away. They still have a dried rose (rose) from their loved one’s funeral, who oh, by the way lived on Willow st (willow)! Crazy right! And for the driver’s seat, they felt that God was telling them to give up control and allow Him to “drive”.
This story reminded me of God’s love for us; that He would use other people to speak into our lives to show us just how much He cares (because sometimes we forget or can’t see it). Sometimes God nudges us to reach out to others, because He wants to use us to speak life, hope, and encouragement into their lives.
So be bold and courageous and share these things. Yes, there’s that chance that those words may not mean anything, but if you let fear dominate in these moments, stories like this will never happen!
