Month 7 was a month of I CANs…
I can… PREACH
We had the opportunity in Nepal, but I didn’t really take advantage of it. However, in India I thrived! It was exciting being able to stand in front of a large group of people (whether church or in a village) and share what God had put on my heart! I also got to share with people surrounding where we were because they gave me a mic! I can… LEAD WORSHIP ON A GUITAR
Haha the instrumental part… forget the vocals (thanks Valor for covering that part)! Margaret borrowed a guitar in Nepal… and the rest is history… haha well sort of. I started playing throughout Nepal, and it became a time I was able to connect with God that I really enjoyed. I’ve known how to play 4 chords, but hated when it didn’t sound the way the songs were supposed to. Thanks to the support and encouragement from my team, slowly but surely I started playing more songs 🙂 Which lead to playing worship a few times in India. Haha although the guitar could barely be heard… I did it! Not to mention a few drum solos throughout the month, but I’ll save that for a video in a future blog!
I can… BE UNCOMFORTABLE
This is just a fun one since I really like to have three things! This month, I became comfortable with being in a single room – but realistically the size of 2 rooms together (with 7 others) for 85% of the day. I also made the difficult decision between getting eaten alive by mosquitos or roasting in my tent… I chose getting eaten alive 🙂 Finally, I survived being crammed in a rickshaw with 11 others (sometimes for over an hr) to get to ministry. Wish I had a picture… maybe one exists somewhere… you have to see it to believe it 🙂
Thanks for reading! Feel free to share what you’ve been learning in the comments 🙂
