This month in Lebanon, we have partnered with a Christian organization that is doing so much to help Syrian refugees. A few days ago, we had the opportunity to visit some homes in a refugee camp. We were able to get to know them and their stories, to share our testimonies, and to share Jesus with them.

God is moving within the refugee camps, folks.

A couple missionaries accompanied us and translated: Abby, a young lady from the States who has lived in Lebanon for two years; and Maya, a Lebanese Christian. Abby and two other missionaries had previously visited a woman named Iman two months before, and they shared the gospel with her and gave her a bible. Iman is from Raqqa, Syria, which has been almost completely demolished by ISIS.

We went to the camp and visited Iman a couple days ago. She is beautiful. She is 20-years-old and has two adorable children, a 4-year-old girl and an infant, who was fast asleep in his crib. Iman greeted us warmly and offered tea to us as we sat down on some cushions and made ourselves comfortable. She mentioned that the few Christians she had met showed such love and mercy, and carried so much peace with them. She noticed something different about the Christians.

Iman also told us that since Abby and the other missionaries had last visited her, she had started to read the Bible, and was currently in Genesis. She said that since she had begun to read the Bible, her husband had noticed a change in her. The Lord has been preparing and cultivating her heart.

Maya summarized the Gospel for Iman once more, and then Abby read a couple parables in Arabic. Iman was animated and engaged as she and Maya discussed Jesus. Throughout the visit, Abby translated for us so we could follow the conversation. I prayed continuously— for Iman and her family, for the camp, and for Abby and Maya.

The organization we are working with has a center near the camps where they hold bible studies and women’s discipleship groups a few times a week. Toward the end of our visit, Iman told us that she had tried to attend a bible study a little while ago, but when she went the center was closed. Maya informed Iman of the center‘s hours so she could participate in a Bible study— Praise God!

Iman is so hungry to learn more about the Lord! It was so amazing to witness her wonder and excitement over this new knowledge. I absolutely cannot wait to see her again.

Please pray for Iman’s family and for the other Syrian refugees to encounter Jesus! Pray for the Truth to pierce and soften their hearts, and for the refugees to come to know the Lord.
