Early 2017 was a particularly devastating season of life. I finally came to the end of myself, fell to my knees, and cried out to God in despair. During this difficult season, He wept with me and held me close. Though I suffered, I felt God’s nearness and comfort. God knew that I would come through the other side of this experience as a stronger, refined creation. My spiritual life became much richer as I leaned heavily on the Lord and sought Him more fervently than ever before.

Then, last summer, I remember browsing through my book collection and re-reading The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. Toward the end of the book, Mr Warren writes about the importance of missions. There is a part in the book in which he urges followers of Christ to go on at least one mission trip in their lives. I remember thinking that being a missionary sounded nice… for someone else, not for me. I never, ever thought that I would be a missionary.

Fast-forward one year (one year of God working wonders on my heart), and I just returned from Gainesville, Georgia, where I spent nearly two weeks training to be a missionary (more on Training Camp later— I have so much to process).

God is taking me overseas, but Kingdom mission work can be done wherever God has you.

Following Jesus is always an adventure.

I cannot see all that awaits me, and I will never know what it is until I take initiative and step forward. I am choosing to trust in the character of God and follow Him into the unknown.

I am being asked to put everything I know and everything I desire on an altar, with only a promise of a future I do not know.

I am beginning to live out a story that I never would have expected for myself, but it is also a story that I would not trade for anything. It is exciting and it is terrifying and it is breathtaking and it is life-giving.

God’s greatest moments for us are never for us alone. It is always about our lives touching the lives of others. Nothing matters more to God than relationship— our personal relationship with Him, and our relationships with others.

In preparing for the World Race these past few months, my soul has come alive.

I am in complete awe of God, and I am also in awe of my squad and my leaders. This will be a wild, unforgettable experience, and I’m so thrilled to have the opportunity to do life with these spectacularly anointed individuals. I love each and every one of them.

Through my supporters, God has provided me with nearly $16,000, which means I have just under $3,000 left to raise! I am so grateful to everyone who has donated so far. Thank you for your partnership! I wouldn’t be able to do this without you.

If you would like to make a donation, you may do so here.

I would also love for you to keep me in your prayers!

And if you don’t want to miss an update while I’m out on the field, make sure to subscribe to my blog.

God Bless!
