Change is on the Horizon
So as we left the Philippines, God showed up in such AMAZING ways and my teammates and I have been so thankful and blessed by HIS goodness. First and Foremost, the little girl that I told you about is home and safe. God blessed me with the opportunity to say goodbye to her and have that peace that she was exactly where she should be before I had to leave. I am so thankful for that. God amazes me in the way that when it seems I canft go any further, when I have cried all the tears I possible can, when I have attempted to do EVERYTHING THAT I CAN DO in a situation and can do nothing but submit to HIS WILL and authority, He always just shows up and shows me that He had everything under control all along. It makes me wonder sometimes why I work myself up so much about life, but as I talked to Emily about everything that happened in the Philippines and all the answers to prayer that we saw, I am reminded about the verse found in Matt. 7:7 gAsk and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to youc.h Emily and I prayed those prayers this past month. We were seekingcand God showed us. Emily ended her last blog about knocking on a door. The funny thing is, the next morning we did and the door was answered and we were able to pray for a little boy. God has just shown up in really Amazing ways and showed us a lot more about how to hear and listen to His leading, not our own. I think that is going to be a value in the months to come.
This month has already begun with some major changes. First and foremost, we are in Cambodia instead of Thailand like originally scheduled. I know God has purpose in that, so we will embrace it with joy. We are entering to month 4, so that means squad leaders from within our team are chosen to finish leading us through the rest of the trip. The squad leaders we have had so far, Mark and Kyla, will be going home after this month. They will be missed! They have done a great job and have definitely led us with Godfs discernment and wisdom. We have been very blessed to have them! They have picked their replacements and so 3 people will fill their spot. Noe, Mike, and Liz. So with them being squad leaders now, their have been shifts in teams. Every team was effected. Some teams got new leaders, some just got new members. Our team lost 1 member and gained 2. We lost John Blair to another team, and gained Danny Stinson and Mike Schuerman. Mike is a squad leader so he will be working with all the teams but when hefs with a team, he will be with ours. Anyway, we are excited about having both of them on our team. I am sad about losing John. John and I had a lot of fun. I drug him everywhere with me, when no one else wanted to go, because he was nice enough to go. Ifm gonna miss you John!
Our team name has changed as well, we are now called POWERHOUSE. This is not our team verse, but definitely one that I take comfort in to go along with our new verse. 2Cor. 4:7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and from us. It brings me great joy to know that any power we have is in HIM. We are all excited about the changes in our team. I know God is moving us to deeper communion and experiences with Him. Please continue to keep our team and new growth as a deeper union in your prayers.
