Leaving Mexico…

We will be leaving Mexico this weekend, a quick stop in Guatemala, and then the race to Nicaragua begins. From there Team Agapetos will be continuing on to Cost Rica. Please start to cover us in prayer. Specifically be praying a cover over our ministry in Costa Rica. We are excited about the local contact we will be working with. We have multiple opportunities including church planting, children’s ministry, and potentially street kids!

Our time in Mexico has been such a blessing. I think the biggest lesson I have learned here truly is letting God lead as I posted earlier in the week.

Our weekend Plaza Ministry was truly amazing. To watch God as the conductor of a heavenly orchestra was a gift to me. We had over 100 people surrounding the team on Friday night for the drama. After the message we split into pairs (one person to speak to those in the crowd, and the other to hang back and cover their partner in prayer). Now all of you know, i love to talk, so which role do you think I was in? YEP… THE SILENT PRAYER PARTNER! And it was a gift from God. I truly got to see God move, to see my hearts desires fulfilled, without me saying a word with my mouth. I sat an spoke loudly for several hours, but only with my heart!

Please join me in lifting a couple of the local girls up in prayer. God knows what they need. Daisy is a young girl who truly captured my heart. Teresa is a young godly woman with a true Kingdom Heart.

Here are a few fun memories… Children here are so joyful. Here we are with nothing but a balloon and a marker (to make balloon faces of course)… and they loved it!

Ah, the chickens…

BUT, we were blessed to spend our day off at a local hotel. There was a real shower, and even a toilet, with a toilet seat, and it even flushed (remember most of the toilets here we have to pour a bucket of water into to flush, and my legs are getting strong, there are no toilet seats).

A personal lesson… I am learning that God will put the desires of HIS heart into mine when I ask him to. Before i kinda thought that it was the other way around. That God gave me what I wanted, but only when i was on his good side. God is really showing me a Kingdom Heart (a heart that is broken for and dedicated to building the Kingdom of God). He is blessing me with the desires of my his heart.

A few things were on my heart this week. One was a night street ministry – specifically reaching out to the prostitutes in the area. I was so excited when i found out Steph and Allissa had the same desire (or rather, that God was using the three of us to fulfill his desire and I got to be a part of it). BUT, it did not work out that night. We were bummed really. But we surrendered to God. We said, God if it is truly your will, we trust you will make it happen. If not, we chose to die to our own desires in order to know you better Lord.

The next night, Chad calls us over, he needed us to pray over a woman who struggled with prostitution. AMEN! When our hearts are submitted to God, our hearts desire is his, and HE WILL grant us the desires of our heart. And we did not even have to leave the church, God brought the ministry to us!

A few days ago, I told a team member that I would like to do some medical ministry, perhaps to be able to volunteer at a hospital and use my medical skills (I am a physician assistant trained in Emergency Medicine). Later that same day I got back to the church and Erin was holding a little boy, Miguel, who caught his finger in a metal blender (for all the mom’s out there taking a deep breath right now, he is ok 🙂 The team decided that we would cover the boy’s medical expenses and that Eric and I would go to the hospital with him and his grandmother. It was really an answer to prayer that the Lord used me to minister to this young man and his family, just my loving him and treating him as if he were my own.

Later that night, the grandmother gave me a purse that she MADE for me as a thank you. It is beautiful!!! I was so excited that the Lord used me to touch this woman, she gave me a big hug and thank you (that was the real gift) when she gave me the purse.  Please lift the family up in prayer, she is taking care of six grandchildren (or more)!  She is carrying a heavy burden, take a minute, connect with the human being, your sister in Christ, in this picture, you can see it on her face.  Lord Jesus, come, comfort this woman, lighten her burden, bless her!

A few more pics…
I tried my hand as a lumber jack one day… hmmmm. not my gift!

Here are a few from last week at the Rehab Center… as I sit here typing this blog one of the other WRers came in and handed me a Spanish Worship DVD, she said it was a gift from Hector (one of the men at the rehab center).  It brought tears to my eyes.  That God is able to use me to the point of moving Hector to want to send me a gift, a worship DVD.  PLEASE lift these men up in prayer.  Please cover Hector with blessings, he is a man of God and has a vision of being a pastor.  I see him lifting up a community that is in despirate need of light and love!

Tim, being Christ for the lost at the plaza!
Tim, my brother, this picture steals my heart!  May God shower you with the love that you show to his children!

Me, seeking the Lord in the stillness of the morning here in Palenque, Mexico.

I love you all…
