“God, really, 11 countries in 11 months, no kidding?” That was my journal entry a few short weeks ago when I learned that I had been accepted to the World Race 2007. His answer to me was a loud and clear, “Kelly, No, I am not kidding, get ready for the adventure of your life, Yes, you are going, and don’t worry, I will be there with you!”
My name is Kelly Ramsey and I am about to leave the comfort and security of my condo, my cat, my family, my friends, my church, and my life here in Las Vegas, Nevada, abandon all, fulfill the Great Commission, and to follow Christ. I will be traveling the world with a team of young adults for 11 months on a mission trip called The World Race. I could not be more excited and more terrified all at the same time. I am a life coach and professional speaker. A few months ago God put this question on my heart, “For What?” “Kelly, for what are your seminars about, for what are you coaching people, for what is your life about, for what will you live for…”
A few days later I was driving home and heard Carrie Underwood’s song – “Jesus take the wheel.” I went home, downloaded it and spent the next few hours on my knees, in tears, having one of the most intimate conversations with God of my life. At the end of it, I could breath again! I realized that life had been moving way to fast, that I had gotten caught up in running a company, making money, finding personal power and self-sufficiency, seeking a husband, finding value and significance in my accomplishments, or often lack their of. I had forgotten who I was… the adopted Daughter of The King, I had lost my identity, my identity in Christ!!! In that moment, when I took my next breath, and my life radically changed.
Why am I going on the World Race?
God has called me to practice what I have been teaching, to be unstoppable; to step out of what is comfortable and go to the nations to make a massive lasting impact on the world. I will wake up my generation and the generations that follow me here in America. I want to see a generation fully alive, in Christ, living for something greater than ourselves.
Because the answer to abortion is not pro-life, it is purity.
Because the answer to our criminal system is not harsher punishment, it is compassion.
Because the answer to addiction is not a war on drugs, it is a war on satan.
Because it is time to fight the real war, to fight the real enemy, to de-populate hell and re-populate heaven!
For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12
I am super excited that we have a media team traveling with us on the race, they will be documenting our trip with blogs, pictures, and videos. I have a vision of youth groups across the world watching us on the “World Race” a reality show that really wakes them up to a real reality, the reality of a life filled with vision and purpose, that we radically alter their lives, encouraging them to live for Christ!!!
