Can He trust you with your life?

Luke 4:38-41
After leaving the synagogue that day, he went to Simon’s home where he found Simon’s mother-in-law very sick with a high fever. “Please heal her,” everyone begged.
Standing at her bedside he spoke to the fever, rebuking it, and immediately her temperature returned to normal, and she got up and prepared a meal for them!

Ready to Serve
Jesus healed Simon’s (Peter’s) mother-in-law so completely that not only did the fever leave, but her strength was restored, and immediately she got up and took care of others’ needs. Peter’s mother-in-law gives us a beautiful example to follow. Her response to Jesus’ touch was to wait on Jesus and his disciples—immediately. Has God ever helped you through a dangerous or difficult situation? If so, you should ask, “How can I express my gratitude to him?” Because God has promised us all the rewards of his Kingdom, we should look for ways to serve him and his followers now. God gives us health so that we may serve others. <<From: One Year with Jesus Devotional>>

I think this is like being a good steward of our money, He gives us a little to see if we can handle it before He gives us a lot.  Maybe, just maybe, good health, strength, energy, vitality, etc are the same.  Why would he give us health, a strong body, healthy emotions IF we are going to choose to trash the temple of our bodies with poor diet, drugs, alcohol, stress, inactivity, etc.  Many of you reading this suffer from depression, drug and alcohol addiction, obesity, chronic disease.  If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior, they your ticket to heaven has been bought with his blood.  You are in, done deal!  We are saved by our faith, NOT by what we do (good or bad).  But what about this life my friends?  If you are a Christian, you are forgiven of your sins.  Now, Jesus wants to HEAL you.  I know that Jesus can heal you of all your pain, all your addictions, all your illness and depression.  He has done it for me.  Jesus wants to give you a full life back, but maybe He also wants to know that He can trust you with it.  Will you live a life worthy of Jesus Christ dying for?  Will you live to glorify his name?  Will you follow his commands?  Will you care for the widow and the fatherless?  Will you share your testimony with the lost?  Will you reach out to the poor and homeless?  Will you reach our to your own family?  Will you share the gift of eternal life with them, or will you keep Jesus all to yourself?

JESUS wants to give you your life back!  Can he trust you with it?

(Careful here, our enemy is prowling around like a lion looking for someone to destroy.  He wants you to stay in bed all day, to buy one more pack of cigarettes, smoke one more joint, have one more drink, take one more anxiety pill.  He wants to keep you numb to the life of passion and purpose God has planned for you.  Satan will lie to you, he will use guilt and shame to keep you in chains… raise up man and woman of God!  Christ has paid the price.  He gave His life for yours!  Because you are dearly loved by God, worth dying for, bought with a price, adopted child of the King, heir to the throne, sons and daughters of the King of Kings and Lord or Lords!  I think it is time for us to act like it!)
