I was originally signed up for the 11 month World Race BUT something kept catching my attention with the World Race Gap Year Trip and after much thought, I have decided to switch!
Now on my trip I will be spending NINE months in THREE different countries; three months in Central America, three months in Africa and three months in Southeast Asia (not sure the exact countries yet).
All of the trips sound amazing (obvs) but the main reason (among many reasons) that I kept gravitating toward the World Race Gap Year, was the thought of staying in each country for three months as opposed to just one. Something about it just makes more sense for what I want to get out of my trip. I want to get to know people from the culture, learn the culture, and become a part of the culture and community… and I feel like three months makes that easier than one!
On a side note, going on this trip will also allow me…
1. To be back in time for my sister’s grad
2. Be back in time for the (short/canadian) summer (work at the lake!)
3. The trip will end up costing just over 12 grand instead of 16 grand — which is a bonus
So yea! I feel like the nine month trip makes a lot more sense for me and I am extremely excited… and also tired of waiting haha. VAMOS!!
