So after an extra week in Guatemala and basically another week of traveling, we have finally made it to our destination-Ometepe Island in Nicaragua. Let me break it down for you- we left Antigua, Guatemala Tuesday morning-took a van to Guatemala City, where we then caught  a bus to El Salvador. We arrived Tuesday night, ended up spending Wednesday in El Salvador, and left at 3 AM Thursday morning for Nicaragua. After a 12 hour bus ride we arrived in Managua, Nicaragua. We took another bus to a town about an hour outside of Managua and spent Thursday night. We got up Friday morning and took another bus, we then had an hour long ferry ride to Ometepe Island, followed by another hour long bus ride to our hostel, where we spent the weekend. But we are excited to finally be here, and the travel was not that bad, it actually went amazingly smoothly. And it had its perks- like seeing Transformers 2 in El Salvador. We were very excited, as you can see…

Ometepe Island is a beautiful island that is surrounded by two active volcanoes. On Monday, we moved into the orphanage where we are working and living this month. It has been really great to plug into one ministy and spend all of our time there. We have been helping with a sidewalk paving project. I have greatly improved my cement mixing skills! We are also taking turns helping with the kids, helping in the kitchen, etc. Last night I got to go to a Bible study with some of the high school girls from the orphagage which I really enjoyed. I am looking forward to getting to spend more time with them.

Unfortunately, our internet access is very limited this month. Hopefully, I will be able to post more in about a week. Thank you all so much for all of your prayers- more to come!
