Hey Everyone! I just wanted to write a quick blog to let you know that we made it! After what felt like the longest day of my life, we have arrived safe and sound in Guatemala. We are staying in a little town by this BEAUTIFUL lake called Lake Atitlan. It is about three hours outside of Guatemala City and sort of up in the mountains. We are staying in a hostel that is actually really nice, relatively speaking. It isn’t a five star hotel but I have my own bed and share a bathroom with five other girls. The town is pretty touristy, so there are all kinds of fun open air markets everywhere. If I had the space and money to buy lots of souveneirs, I would be going crazy right now! Here are some of the pictures I have taken. I posted a few more in the picture link on the left hand side of the blog. So always be sure to check there! Unfortunately, it has been sort of cloudy so I don’t think my camera is acurately capturing how beautiful this place really is!

We are staying here for the rest of the week, and then we leave (I believe) on Sunday to go to our different ministry sites. I am not sure yet what my team will be doing. As for me, I am doing fairly well. I think the initial shock of getting here was greater than I expected. I felt super anxious yesterday and did not sleep well the first night. But God has definitely been answering prayer, and I have felt much better today and slept better last night. But please continue to pray for my nerves and that I would have a sense of peace. I know that this is where God has me, and He has continued to confirm that to me. A verse that really spoke to me last night was 1 Peter 3:13-15 which says:

“Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened. But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord.”

That has been my prayer today and I have felt a continuing sense of peace! Thank you all for all of your prayers. They are working!
I will write more soon. MUCH LOVE!
