I am writing today to ask you to prayerfully consider helping us raise money for Bibles in Malawi. While on the World Race, our squad is allowed to choose 1 or 2 different causes throughout the year that we would like to raise support for. While we were in Malawi, many of us felt that we had found a very worthy cause.
As I mentioned in my previous blogs, Malawi has been one of my favorite, arguably my number one favorite, stop on the race. Not only is it a naturally gorgeous country, but it is filled with beautiful people who have an amazing love for Christ. As my team served in Zomba, Malawi, we were deeply touched by our contact, Pastor Gama, his family, and his church family. They treated us with amazing love and hospitality the entire time we were there, and we were all moved by their passion and continual joyous spirits.
During our time in Malawi, we traveled around to different churches and spoke to different leaders and pastors. And every group we spoke with had the same prayer request- Bibles. Bibles are a rare commodity in Malawi and generally only the pastor of a church will own one (if even him). Every time we met with the leaders and pastors, we were moved as we watched the people cry out to God to provide them with Bibles for their congregations. The church in Malawi desperately wants to grow in their relationship with Christ, but this is difficult when they cannot study God’s word.
After discussing this as a team and later as a squad, we all felt that this was a worthy cause to raise funds for. So, I hope that you will consider donating! Each Bible costs around $11 and will make a lasting impact on a believer’s life in Malawi. Every little bit helps! I hope that you will consider joining us in supporting the body of Christ in Africa!
