At least this year I do.
For the past 10 months I have been living in a perpetual summer. I had a beautiful summer in Wisconsin, then left for the race and experienced a hot time in Africa, from there went to Asia and experienced an even sweatier time. Needless to say, skirts, tank tops and weird tan lines have been the norm for awhile.
Well, that’s about to change. This next month my squad is heading to China, where winter is flourishing. Not only that, but our team in particular is heading way, way, way up north to Harbin, China (a 40 hour train ride from Hing Kong), where the high for the week is 32 degrees, with a low of -3 degrees. Talk about a difference! We have been trying our best to get warm clothes (not an easy thing in Malaysia, especially when you are on a tight budget), but the Lord is providing enough to get us through. Although extremely cold, Harbin is supposed to be exceptionally beautiful, known for their world-renowned ice sculptures. I truly am excited to go there and experience a smattering of winter activities that I assumed I had missed out on for this year.
In going to China, we will not be allowed to go online at all, for safety reasons. That means no blogs, emails or facebook updates until April. I would still love to receive comments, emails etc… for when I am able to get back online! And I will post blogs on my time in China then.
Thank you guys so much! I will miss you.
