Hi Friends!

I am so excited to begin a new adventure with Jesus. During this past month I began praying where the Lord would want me next year. As an intern with Cru at Virginia Tech I have a one year commitment to fulfill, so I wanted clarity as to where the Lord desired to use me next. I know many of you were praying for clarity in that as well, so thank you! I told the Lord He didn’t need to reveal where He wanted me, but I would love if He made it clear.

My wonderful roommate Allie encouraged me to apply to go on the World Race (WR). Interestingly enough, I have four friends on the WR right now, and my roommate mentioning it was what made me think to apply. I immediately went down to my computer and looked at the routes. I fell in love with route 3. I decided on the spot to apply at 10:30 pm Thursday. I finished up my application a couple hours later at 2 am Friday. I told the Lord if He didn’t want me to go on the WR, to redirect me. Then at 2 pm Friday afternoon (12 hours later) I received a phone call from the WR office. They asked if they could interview me. After 30 minutes the woman who I was speaking with said “okay this is the fastest we have ever done this…but I would like to officially accept you to go on the WR.” Wow! That was quick… I felt that was a huge YES from the Lord.

The WR is a stretching 11 months where I will serve the Lord in unique ways doing various ministry related work in 11 different countries. My new adventure will begin in September 2015. I will go to 11 countries and live in each country for a month. My route consists of Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, The Philippines, and Thailand. This will most likely be the hardest year of my life. I am so excited to see how the Lord challenges me and strengthens my relationship with Him! However, I am really looking forward to finishing out my time here at Virginia Tech strong. I am really focusing on making the most of each day to serve the students here for Jesus well!

In the past month I prayed with four girls to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. I approached three freshman girls on campus who after sharing the Gospel with them decided to make decisions to receive Christ. One girl in my Bible study came up to me and said she wanted to accept Jesus at Cru’s Fall Retreat weekend. The Lord is at work!!! It is so exciting to be a part of something bigger. This calling is truly such a blessing. I love my job, and I love sharing Jesus with others. I am reminded of the beauty of the Gospel each time I share.

In the summer of 2013 I went to Botswana on a summer project for Cru. This was an incredible month of personal growth and I felt that I was really able to dive into a different culture. I think a month is the perfect amount of time to feel a part of the culture. My time in Botswana definitely inspired me to do missions. I think the WR is a perfect opportunity to do missions work around the world. I would love your support in prayer or financially! You can click the “support me” link at the top of the page!

God Bless,
