I have decided to squad lead!

Which means I am doing the race again. Sort of. Myself and two others will lead N Squad for the first four months of their race (January – April). We'll travel with the squad to Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Romania. We'll disciple and raise up leaders within the squad who will take over as the "raised up" squad leaders when the three of us leave. I'm excited! And here's why…

Coming off the field has been bitter sweet. I'm learning how to continue my pursuit of the Lord, how to seek the heart of my Father now that I'm living in the home I grew up in, geographically apart from B Squad.

God used the race in many ways – some of which I've recognized and some I have yet to realize. I want to share a a list that I wrote on September 1st, three days after returning to the States. It's titled, Things God used the race to teach me:

Love justice
 Live freely
Marriage is in His plan for me
 Deeper intimacy with Jesus
 A heart for worship
Truly believe that anything is possible
 He fights for THE ONE
Love unconditionally – we're all in process
 Love the word
Live in the presence of the Holy Spirit
 Do community well
The importance of community for the church
Delight in and act on brokenness
 Live generously
Speak self control over my life
The power of life and death is in the tongue (Proverbs 18:21)
 Submission
 Vulnerability
 Dependence and humility
How hungry the world is for the Gospel
Love never ends (1 Corin 13:8)
 I am a passionate woman
Be joyful in all circumstances (rejoice in the title "Mzungu")
 Pursue the Presence of God
DREAM!
 Welcome divine interruptions
CRY OUT!
 Receive blessings
 Honor others
 I am my Father's daughter

God continues to teach me these things. They are not lessons that I learned and never have to be revisited. Rather they are truths, revelations, and encouragements on a never-ending list that I am constantly reminded of in God's perfect timing and love.

This list best explains my heart for deciding to squad lead. Not the actual lessons themselves, but the proof of how God uses the race to change young adults. What an opportunity to walk alongside N Squad as they write their own lists. As they receive deeper revelation of our Father's love for them. As they step into their complete identity as sons and daughters. What a privilege.

Not only that, but squad leading is going to be hard. God is going to break and recreate me. This list of "things God used the race to teach me" will be multiplied as I step out on new territory. As I will have to trust God in ways I never have. As I come to relate more closely with the beatitudes in Matthew 5. As my world is once again wrecked by Love that is God

I'm starting to raise support again, this time $6000. While that seems like a lot to me, it's pocket change for God. It's humbling to ask for help, to be completely dependent on the generosity of others. But it's a also a gift. It's an opportunity to experience yet again God's provision for me.

I will daily surrender my life to Christ and declare my dependence on Him. I am confident that this is where God has me for the next few months and that He WILL provide. As I've heard it said, "God's calling, God's bill."

If you have it on your heart to support me, click the "Support ME!" tab under my picture. (Note: there is a 3% and 2% processing fee for credit cards and bank drafts respectively.) If you have questions, I'd love to hear from you! Click "contact" under my picture.

Looking forward to continuing this journey with you.  You're appreciated!
