Hi everyone! My name is Kelly Joy, and I’m going on the World Race! I’m really excited at this opportunity to see so much of God’s wonderful world and show His wonderful people His love! Since this is my first blog post (ever!), I thought that I would start by giving you a few facts about myself so that you will know me as you follow my posts from now on!
1. I am 22 years old, and I will be turning 23 while on the Race.
2. I have one sister, Erin. She is married to Matt and they have the most amazing little boys ever, Jason, who is 23 months old, and Jack, who is 6 months. They’re fantastic and I love them.
3. I have beautiful, God-loving, supportive, awesome parents! I am so blessed to have them.
4. I also have a chocolate lab named Mocha. But she can’t come on the Race with me.
5. I am currently attending a Discipleship Training School with Youth With A Mission in Orlando, Florida. I’m looking forward to putting this training to use for the rest of my life!
6. I will be going to Africa on outreach with YWAM in January and February, leaving only four months at home before the Race. Pray for me!
7. I love chocolate. Seriously.
8. Water is my absolute favorite thing to drink. And I drink a lot of it.
9. I was in marching band in high school. I played mallet instruments in the pit. I also play the oboe and the piano.
10. God has called me and I am answering Him. I long to see children with little to no chance of thriving come to know God and have His love and grace grow in their lives until they become successful, influential people functioning in a healthy community.
11. I am an author. I currently have one book written (not published yet, unfortunately) and I am writing another. I love to write interesting stories with elements of realism and whispers of God throughout them.
So now you know a little bit about me! I look forward to using this blog to share the stories of God’s awesomeness for the next year and a half!
