about a third of my life is now spent trudging. or so we jokingly said while hiking up Buddha hill, which should be more properly named Buddha mountain. We started laughing as we realized how funny we looked bent over, backpacks on, practically stomping up this steep road. When we finally made it to the top of the mountain, we could see the entire city of Pattaya and the Gulf of Thailand. It was beautiful and such a great spot to pray over the city. Needless, to say, it was well worth the trudge. As I thought about this today, I began to realize how much this really applies to my life. This race we are on is definitely the most exciting thing I have done up to this point in my life, but not everyday is spectacular. Just like at home, it is easy to get into a routine and just live life. This is not a bad thing, unless we lose sight of why we are here. So many days feel like I am just trudging along trying to figure out what God wants me to do that day. But then all of a sudden God totally rocks my world, and its like coming to the top of that mountain and realizing all the trudging was totally worth it. We could have taken the easy way up the mountain in a truck taxi, but first of all we are poor missionaries, and second of all, what fun would that have been? So on the days when God totally shows up and rocks our socks off, I realize I never again want to take the easy way out. All the hard work you put in daily to serve Christ will never return void. So when you feel like you are trudging along, trust that when you are following Him He is just waiting to rock your world and show you the view from the top of the mountain.
