Hello All! I’m working on another blog post currently, but I just wanted to be more intentional with the information I provide to my family, friends, and supporters. I apologize for not being better during month one. I wanted to be as present as possible and now that I have life on the Race figured out a little better, I can’t wait to tell you all about it.

A little about Quito, Ecuador. After over 31 hours on a bus, my sQuad and I arrived at our ministry site at 5pm on February 10th. This month is All Squad Month, meaning that instead of traveling to our next country together and then splitting off to our seperate ministry sites, we are actually all together this month 🙂 We are being hosted this month by Inca Linq International. They have partners in the community that they have set us up with this month, so each team has different assignments. Team Hazaq is working with a church plant named Casa Del Dabar!

So Far, this month’s ministry is looking like: living in community with my sQuadmates, taking several buses to ministry everyday, helping a member of the church with painting a mural and building a playhouse for the preschool she runs, teaching English to potentially an entire community north of the city, and helping the church with their children’s ministry.

The weather mostly in the 60s-70s and rains everyday. Definitely not what I expected from the Equator…I’m only about 20 minutes from Mitad de Mundo. My little geography nerd heart is so happy.

Did you know that Ecuador uses US Dollars as their currency?! It’s pretty neat. They have several of their old coins mixed in with the rest of the money and this is literally where all the Susan B. Anthony, Sacagawea, and Presidential dollar coins have all ended up. It’s taking all of my being not to come back with bags full.

I’m so excited that I get to live with my entire sQuad this month. I love coming home from ministry and being able to hear all about their own day at their ministry. I am soaking up as much time with my Super Bueno family of 59 people because this will be the only time all year that I will be able to serve alongside some of them.

Please feel free to ask me questions at anytime 🙂 I can’t wait to update you more about my month later this week. Sending all my love and prayers to you!
