I had my Birthday in Kenya! I turned 23 yesterday and it was such an amazing Birthday.
I was able to spend this past weekend going on a safari to Maasai Mara; the most famous safari in Kenya. I got to see lions, a cheetah, rhino, monkeys, zebras, giraffes, hippos, elephants, and SO many more animals as we drove around the park all day Saturday and Sunday morning. It was such a special time spent with my amazing friends that I have on the World Race.
This weekend was quite the adventure, it took us 12 hours traveling there and 12 hours traveling back. We encountered broken roads, mass amounts of people, riots, tear gas, and switching vehicles 6 times but we made it there and back safely and had fun in the process. I was amazed by all the animals I got to see, probably close to one million animals since it is peak migration season right now.

On Monday which was my actual Birthday I received 180 Birthday cards from all of the children here at Great Mercy which was so special! Our contact also taught me how to ride a motorcycle which was a lot of fun! I had a Birthday party with chocolate cake at the local coffee shop with 20 of my World Race friends and was able to Skype home.
It was definitely a Birthday to remember and one like I have never had before.
Other exciting news that is happening at our ministry site at Great Mercy Orphanage is that we will be distributing 82 pairs of brand new school shoes to the children here who need it most this weekend. We also purchased two goats for the farm here to help them become more self-sustaining. It is so awesome to be able to meet some of the needs of the children. My team and I have been so blessed here by the ministry that Great Mercy is to so many children in need.
We will also be having a dance party with the kids this Friday night which will be a really fun memory for everyone before we leave here on Monday.
I am still in need of raising around $1,300 to be fully funded for the last 4 months of the race. If anyone would like to help me finish the race I would be extremely grateful- It would be an awesome Birthday present! I know the Lord has so much more in store for me as I continue this journey that has been set before me. Thank you for your continued prayers and support!
