When following a dream,
a lot of times, most of what people see is the sunshine and roses, all
of the good things. But just because we are following the Lord and
chasing after this dream, does not mean that it has been an easy road.
This hasn’t been cake… The Lord didn’t promise us that it would be easy;
rather, he said it would be an uphill climb and that we would have to
work for this. At the end of the day, we trust completely in Him, that
He will come through and make it happen.

This is some of the
dialogue I have been having with the Lord, sometimes on a daily basis. I
communicate my issues, my struggles, my fears to him and lay them down.
He then whispers His promises and reminders of who He is…

But, God, we only have $8,000 and we need over $100,000…
I’m providing for you…

We are working so hard, and we need more people to get behind us and believe in this vision…
I am fighting for you…

We are tired, weary, and sometimes we just want to see the fruit of all we are doing…
Let me be your strength. This discipline is producing for you a harvest of righteousness and peace…

All we want to do is just be over in Kenya already and be with these people…
I see their need. I am caring for them. Be patient. My timing is perfect…

What if we mess up? What if we fail?
Hide beneath the shadow of my wings. Lean not on your own understanding… I am leading you. Keep following…

We stand on these truths:
He is God and His character doesn’t change no matter what our circumstances are.
He does not live up to any of His characteristics if and when he provides or shows up in a particular way.
He is not faithful if… or faithful when…
He is faithful.
He is good.

He is our firm foundation and we will not be moved, not be swayed, and
we will not stay in discouragement. This hasn’t been cake, but if we are
honest with ourselves, do we really want it to be easy? In all things,
we are more than conquerors. Everything worth having is worth
sacrificing for and worth working toward. And Jesus is worth it. These
people are worth it.
