God, let me live a life of invitation – a life that goes after others, that invites others in, that allows them to be themselves and embraces them as they are but also invites them into a better story. A life that invites people into the greatest love story of all time. A life that speaks a better word over people’s lives than what they have settled for. And let that be first and foremost because that’s what I have with you. Let that be because I am close to You, found in You, Yours.
Father, I want to burn with passion for you, and from that, to come alive in love and passion for others. I want to see the world and every human being with your eyes. Let me see people and things as you see them – to look through skin and persona and see their heart.
I want to call forth in myself and in others who you have made us to be – not focusing on my or their lack, but on who we are and who you have declared us to be.
Let others see your love by the way we love one another. Let that start first with me and You- and then with others and I.
Give me your eyes of love. Thank you that we don’t have to wait for a new year for renewal or a new start. But today is as good a day as any for that! I’m thankful that each day can be rebirth, each day is full of new mercies, each day is a fresh, new beginning with you, full of love and grace and redemption.
The invitation starts first with You, Jesus. It is as simple and profound as that – Your invitation, our response. You are always there, beckoning, inviting us in. Help my response to your invitation be an ever increasing yes. And from that, let my life release to others that same invitation to all you have for them.
