Life has been crazy the past few months (when is it not!), so here’s an update on where God has taken me and where He has me right now!

On July 22, the team and I left Kenya to spend a few weeks in the States. Two of my teammates, Matt and Cristianna, got married to each other on August 11! Before the wedding, I traveled all over the place, meeting up and spending time with people. I spent time in New York, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida before heading to New Mexico for their wedding! It was a busy and very enjoyable few weeks. The Lord gave me time to rest and catch up with people that I haven’t seen in a long time.

After the wedding, I flew to the Philippines, with Matt, my other teammate, and my friend, Bill. I will be here for the next ten days before heading back to Kenya.

Why the Philippines? The Lord started speaking to me about Manila, Philippines last July while our team toured the country hosting 5k races to raise money to come to Kenya. I didn’t understand why He would speak to me about the Philippines since I hadn’t moved to Kenya yet. I listened to what He said, tucked it away in my heart, and kept praying about the Philippines throughout the past year. Along the way, I looked into different opportunities to go and nothing worked out. Then, Matt and Bill started talking about going to the Philippines after the wedding. It seemed like the perfect timing. Matt and Cristianna would be honeymooning for a few weeks before heading back to Kenya, so we could take that time to go to the Philippines.

We made the decision to come to the Philippines back in March, and now here we are!

I don’t have plans regarding the Philippines; I just knew that I was supposed to take the leap of faith to come here. I already love this country, the people, the weather, the culture. God said to come here and gave me the opportunity, and I simply responded. While I am here, I will keep my eyes and ears open to what God is doing and saying.

At the end of this month, my three teammates and I head back to Kenya until at least December. I am excited to get back home and join back into what God is doing there. I have missed people and living there this past month!

Please be praying for me, that I hear what God is saying about the Philippines while I am here, and that He continues to speak to me about what it looks like to continue living in Kenya.
